Student Representative Pilot Project

Background Information
The College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia (the College) is exploring the feasibility of establishing a provincial network of interested nursing students who will volunteer their time to represent the College in their school of nursing.

Patterned after the Student Representative Program offered by the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC), the College's Nursing Student Representative Pilot Project enables the College and nursing students to form a closer link with each other.  From the College perspective, participation in this pilot project contributes to the development of nursing students so that they are well informed about self-regulation, can integrate the standards of nursing practice into their own nursing practice, and can enhance their leadership skills once they enter the profession of nursing.  At the end of a four-year period, the pilot project will be evaluated to determine whether the project goal was attained. The College Council can then decide whether to continue with the pilot project as a College Program.
