Consultation Services

Professional Practice, Policy and Legislative Services staff are available for consultation on a daily basis to help nurses explore professional practice issues and concerns. This confidential service is designed to enhance and promote safe, compassionate, ethical, and competent practice.

You may wish to consult with Professional Practice, Policy and Legislative Services when you need assistance ...

  • dealing with professional practice issues related to client care;
  • identifying necessary supports for the delivery of safe, competent, ethical nursing care;
  • determining nursing care requirements;
  • evaluating the outcome of nursing care;
  • interpreting and applying professional legislation and CRNNS documents to nursing practice; or
  • identifying trends and issues affecting the delivery of nursing care.

You may choose to discuss your issue over the phone or you may also request a face-to-face meeting with a Nursing Practice Consultant. The consultant will help you clarify elements of your situation and suggest resources that might be helpful in resolving your issue. If your issue is not within the mandate of CRNNS, the staff will direct you to other areas.
