Baccalaureate Program
The basic level of education for nursing in Nova Scotia is a four-year nursing program leading to a bachelor of science in nursing (BScN) degree. These nursing schools may offer accelerated nursing education programs for individuals who already hold a degree as well as post-RN degree programs. PhD (Nursing) Program
The School of Nursing PhD program prepares nurse scientists who will develop nursing practices that improve health outcomes generally or women’s health outcomes specifically. The student’s research interest frames an intensive investigation of a particular question relevant to nursing. As the foundation of the program, research and the dissemination of research findings provide the vehicle for developing and demonstrating leadership in the advancement of nursing knowledge, theory and practice, and health related policy.
